Why is National Farm Safety and Health Week important?

National Farm Safety and Health Week (NFSHW) is an annual event in the United States, dedicated to raising awareness about the health and safety challenges faced by farmers, ranchers, and agricultural workers. It aims to promote safe farming practices, prevent accidents, and address the physical and mental health concerns that are prevalent in the farming community.

The week typically features educational programs, outreach campaigns, and activities that focus on various aspects of farm safety, including machinery operation, pesticide handling, mental health support, and proper use of personal protective equipment. It serves as a reminder to prioritize safety in a high-risk industry and highlights the importance of both physical and mental well-being for those working in agriculture.

When is NFSHW 2025?

National Farm Safety and Health Week is observed annually during the third week of September to raise awareness about safety and health issues in the agricultural sector. In 2025, it will take place from September 21 to 27.
